Ann Moorhouse, an integrative psychotherapist, sitting in her welcoming indoor counselling space in Nottinghamshire.

About me

I have always been drawn to stories. For more than twenty years, I’ve known that my path was to sit alongside others as they navigate the ups and downs of life. To me, therapy isn’t just a career; it is a calling rooted in genuine curiosity and a belief that everyone can benefit from intentional support from a dedicated professional.

What it’s like to work together

A clean desk setup with a laptop and notebook, representing secure online counselling via Google Meet.

Whether you are navigating relationship complexities, carrying a situation that feels heavy or struggling to find clarity, we will work together to unpack your thoughts and find your best route forward.

Clients often describe my style as a balance of professional knowledge and genuine warmth. I consciously focus on creating a therapeutic space that is:

  • Respectful & Non-judgmental: A place where you can speak about absolutely anything freely, safely and without filter.

  • Comfortable & Genuine: I don’t sit in clinical silence. I bring an authentic, supportive and real energy to our sessions.

  • Insightful: Together, we work to connect the dots in your experiences, bringing you increased clarity and a deeper self-awareness.

My Approach & Qualifications

Because we are all unique, I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to mental health. As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I draw on my extensive training including an MA in Counselling and a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice to tailor our sessions to your exact needs.

For your peace of mind, I am a Registered Member of the BACP and an Accredited Registrant with the NCPS. I adhere to their ethical frameworks, ensuring our work together is safe, confidential, and held to the highest professional standards. I love learning and am committed to ongoing professional development to ensure my skills remain sharp and up to date and my knowledge and expertise are continually being challenged and broadened.

When I’m not working, I find my own sense of perspective by being outdoors in nature. I’m a firm believer in celebrating the small, quiet moments; the things that naturally slow us down when life feels fast or overwhelming.

Beyond the Therapy Room

When I’m not working, I find my own sense of perspective by being outdoors in nature. I am a firm believer in celebrating the small, quiet moments, the things that naturally slow us down and ground us when life feels fast or overwhelming.
